This classic recipe has a flaky, buttery crust, and tastes just like a homemade creamy turkey pot pie.
The only alteration we made to the recipe, was instead of using milk we used heavy cream. It turned out wonderful! A family favorite for sure. Tip: During the last 15 to 20 minutes of baking, cover crust edge with strips of foil to prevent excessive browning. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.t with 1/2 cup of heavy cream. It turned out great!! Instead of Instead of milk, I replaced it with 1/2 cup of heavy cream. It turned out great!!milk, I replaced it with 1/2 cup of heavy cream. It turned out great!! My husband and I preffer to season the filet mignon, then let them sit out of the fridge for about 20-30 minutes before cooking them. I also doubled the sauce and added a pinch or two of brown sugar. This is a very easy, yet delicious recipe. I will definitely make again and again!
Tip: You could add fresh bacon to wrap the filets for a little extra flavor! This is great served with cheesy potatoes, grilled brussel sprouts, and a mix of brown and black rice. Delicious! |
